Job summary

Unitek Learning in California is seeking an experienced nursing educator to teach courses at various times and locations, including clinical rotations, and to mentor students in classroom, lab, and clinical settings.

The role requires current nursing practice knowledge and the ability to work independently, with day-to-day operations in the nursing lab. ATI certification within 30 days of hire is required, along with current immunizations and BLS; on-site collaboration is essential.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse with current license in the state you are applying to teach.
• BSN with 3+ years bedside or Associate with 6+ years bedside.
• Graduate of an approved School of Nursing.
• Able to meet the faculty requirements set by the Board of Vocational Nursing.
• Experience demonstrating current nursing practice knowledge; ability to mentor students in classroom, lab and clinical settings.
• Must obtain ATI Certification within 30 days of hire (offered by Unitek).
• Current immunizations and Basic Life Support Certification.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses at varying times and locations as needed.
• Teach both lecture content and clinical rotations (days, evenings, weekends).
• Assist with reviewing and revising syllabi and program guidelines.
• Submit required program reports to the Director in a timely manner.
• Maintain student attendance, grades and skills check-offs; assist with data collection.
• Participate in professional development and keep licensure up-to-date; attend committees as assigned.
• Collaborate on-site with students, faculty and staff.
