Job summary

Unitek Learning is seeking a Full-time Vocational Nursing Instructor to teach and supervise students across lecture and clinical rotations at visiting sites in California. The role emphasizes updating syllabi, mentoring students, and staying current with nursing best practices while meeting program requirements.

The position requires active CA RN/LVN licensure, ADN or BSN, and ATI certification within 60 days.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse with CA licensure.
• Graduate of an approved School of Nursing; ADN or BSN as required by state regulations.
• Able to meet the faculty requirements set by the Board of Vocational Nursing.
• 3 years of Nursing experience with BSN or 6 years with ADN.
• Experience demonstrating knowledge of nursing practice; ability to mentor students in classroom, lab and clinical settings.
• Current immunizations and Basic Life Support Certification.
• Must obtain ATI Certification within 60 days of hire (offered by Unitek).

Responsibilities

• Teach courses and supervise clinical rotations at multiple sites.
• Review and update syllabi to align with program guidelines.
• Maintain student records, attendance, grades, and skills check-offs.
• Contribute to program reports and compliance with deadlines.
• Stay current with nursing practices, safety regulations, and CE requirements.

Job Description

We are looking for a Full-time Vocational Nursing Instructor to join our team. Please note this position would be visiting clinical sites.

• Make continuous efforts to improve quality of instruction by reviewing and utilizing different and innovative methodologies / techniques in teaching
• Demonstrate or be willing to acquire skills for utilizing online activities as enhancers to course content/material during interactive teaching and learning
• Assist with reviewing and revising of syllabus for specific course within the program and instructional guidelines
• Submit required program reports and forms to Director of the program in a timely manner
• Keep current with new technologies and safety regulations
• Maintains student records of attendance, grades, and skills check-off forms and assist with program data collection that meet set due dates and deadlines
• Assists with updating and maintaining student files as relates to clinical requirements, immunizations and educational requirements
• Teach courses at a variety of times and locations in response to program needs
• Teaches both lecture content and clinical rotations (clinical rotations can be days, and/or evenings, on week days and/or weekends)
• Participate in professional development; maintain CE hours to ensure renewed licensure, takes responsibility for staying current with college updates
• Actively participates in committees as assigned, based on availability, taking into consideration teaching responsibilities as priority

Pay range: $95-100K/annually

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse with current CA licensure
• Graduate of an approved School of Nursing; Associates Degree in Nursing or Bachelor Science in Nursing or credentials as required by state regulations
• Able to meet the faculty requirements set by the Board of Vocational Nursing
• 3 years of Nursing experience with BSN or 6 years of Nursing experience with Associates
• Experience which demonstrates: Current knowledge of nursing practice; ability to mentor students in classroom, lab and clinical settings; ability to work independently without close supervision; broad knowledge of nursing sciences; successful handling of day to day operations in the nursing lab; proficient, strong communication skills verbal and written; current knowledge/experience in clinical setting
• Current immunizations and Basic Life Support Certification
• Must obtain ATI, Assessment Technology Institute Certification within 60 days of hire (offered by Unitek)
