Job summary

Unitek Learning offers a nursing instructor position to teach in the LVN program on a California campus. This part-time role requires availability for Saturday clinicals and a commitment to delivering high-quality instruction.

Candidates must hold RN or LVN licensure with current credentials and meet board requirements for bedside experience (RN/BSN: 3 years or LVN/Associates: 6 years). Immunizations and BLS/ACLS preferred. We provide comprehensive benefits and a supportive work environment.

Qualifications

• Board of Nursing requirements: 3 years bedside RN/BSN or 6 years bedside LVN/Associates.

Responsibilities

• Improve quality of instruction via diverse teaching methods.
• Utilize online activities to enhance course content.
• Review and revise syllabus within program guidelines.
• Submit program reports to the Director on time.
• Stay current with new technologies and safety regulations.
• Maintain attendance, grades, and skill check-off records.
• Update student files related to clinical requirements and immunizations.
• Teach courses at various times/locations to meet program needs.
• Conduct lectures and clinical rotations including evenings/weekends.
• Participate in professional development and CE hours for licensure.
• Serve on committees as assigned.

We are seeking a registered nurse to teach in our LVN program, no prior teaching experience required! Must be available to work Saturday clinicals.

Job Description

• Make continuous efforts to improve quality of instruction by reviewing and utilizing different and innovative methodologies / techniques in teaching
• Demonstrate or willing to acquire skills for utilizing online activities as enhancers to course content/material during interactive teaching and learning
• Assist with reviewing and revising of syllabus for specific course within the program and instructional guidelines
• Submit required program reports and forms to Director of the program in a timely manner
• Keep current with new technologies and safety regulations
• Maintains student records of attendance, grades, and skills check-off forms and assist with program data collection that meet set due dates and deadlines
• Assists with updating and maintaining student files as relates to clinical requirements, immunizations and educational requirements
• Teach courses at a variety of times and locations in responds to program needs
• Teaches both lecture content and clinical rotations (clinical rotations can be days, and/or evenings, on week days and/or weekends)
• Participate in professional development; maintain CE hours to ensure renewed licensure, takes responsibility for staying current with college updates
• Actively participates in committees as assigned, based on availability, taking into consideration teaching responsibilities as priority

Pay Range

The hourly pay range for this position is $48.00 (minimum), $54.00 (midpoint), and $60.00 (maximum).*

*Typical hiring range is between the minimum and midpoint of the above pay range. Actual starting base pay may vary based on factors such as education, experience, skills, location and budget.

Qualifications

To be considered for the position, you must meet the requirements set by the board of nursing below:

• Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse with current licensure in the state in which you are applying to teach
• You must meet one of the following requirements set by the board of vocational nursing:
  • 3 years bedside experience with RN/BSN OR
  • 6 years bedside experience with LVN/Associates Degree
• Preferred: current immunizations and Basic Life Support Certification or ACLS
