Job summary

Unitek College of Nursing is seeking a part-time/Vocational Nursing Instructor to join our team. The role involves evenings and/or weekend clinical support and visiting clinical sites to teach and supervise nursing students.

Qualified candidates are RNs or LVNs with current state licensure and relevant bedside experience; immunization and BLS/ACLS are preferred. The position offers competitive hourly pay and opportunities to impact student learning and community health.

Qualifications

• Must be a RN or LVN with current state licensure.
• 3 years bedside experience with RN/BSN or 6 years bedside with LVN/Associates.
• Preferred: current immunizations and BLS/ACLS.

Responsibilities

• Improve quality of instruction using innovative teaching methods.
• Learn and apply online activities to enhance content.
• Review and revise syllabus per program guidelines.
• Submit program reports to the Director on time.
• Keep up with new technologies and safety regulations.
• Maintain attendance, grades, and skills check-off records.
• Update student files for clinical requirements and immunizations.
• Teach at various times/locations to meet program needs.
• Teach lectures and clinical rotations, days/evenings/weekends.
• Participate in professional development to keep licensure CE hours.
• Join committees as assigned, balancing teaching duties.

Job Description

We are looking for a part-time and/or per diem Vocational Nursing Instructor to join our team. This position will be evenings and/or weekend clinical support * Please note this position would be visiting clinical sites

• Make continuous efforts to improve quality of instruction by reviewing and utilizing different and innovative methodologies / techniques in teaching
• Demonstrate or willing to acquire skills for utilizing online activities as enhancers to course content/material during interactive teaching and learning
• Assist with reviewing and revising of syllabus for specific course within the program and instructional guidelines
• Submit required program reports and forms to Director of the program in a timely manner
• Keep current with new technologies and safety regulations
• Maintains student records of attendance, grades, and skills check-off forms and assist with program data collection that meet set due dates and deadlines
• Assists with updating and maintaining student files as relates to clinical requirements, immunizations and educational requirements
• Teach courses at a variety of times and locations in responds to program needs
• Teaches both lecture content and clinical rotations (clinical rotations can be days, and/or evenings, on week days and/or weekends)
• Participate in professional development; maintain CE hours to ensure renewed licensure, takes responsibility for staying current with college updates
• Actively participates in committees as assigned, based on availability, taking into consideration teaching responsibilities as priority

Pay Range

The hourly pay range for this position is $48.00 (minimum), $55.00 (Maximum)

*Typical hiring range is between the minimum and midpoint of the above pay range. Actual starting base pay may vary based on factors such as education, experience, skills, location and budget.

Qualifications

To be considered for the position, you must meet the requirements set by the board of nursing below:

• Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse with current licensure in the state in which you are applying to teach
• You must meet one of the following requirements set by the board of vocational nursing:
  • 3 years bedside experience with RN/BSN OR
  • 6 years bedside experience with LVN/Associates Degree
• * Preferred: current immunizations and Basic Life Support Certification or ACLS
