Job summary

Unitek Learning is seeking a Part Time Vocational Nursing Instructor to join our team. The role involves visiting clinical sites and delivering nursing instruction, including lectures and clinical rotations, across varied times and locations in California.

Requirements include an RN or LVN license in CA, nursing degree (ADN/BSN), and continued professional development with CE hours. ATI certification must be obtained within 60 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse with CA licensure.
• Graduate of an approved School of Nursing; ADN or BSN.
• Able to meet faculty requirements set by BVN.
• 3 years of nursing experience with BSN or 6 years with ADN.
• Current immunizations and Basic Life Support Certification.
• Must obtain ATI certification within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Make continuous efforts to improve quality of instruction using varied teaching methods.
• Utilize online activities to enhance course content during interactive teaching.
• Review and revise syllabus within the program guidelines.
• Submit program reports to the Director in a timely manner.
• Maintain student records and assist with data collection.
• Teach courses at various times and locations as needed.
• Teach lecture content and clinical rotations (days/evenings/weekends).
• Engage in professional development and CE hours for licensure renewal.
• Participate in committees as assigned.

Job Description

We are looking for a Part Time Vocational Nursing Instructor to join our team.

Please note this position would be visiting clinical sites:

• Make continuous efforts to improve quality of instruction by reviewing and utilizing different and innovative methodologies / techniques in teaching
• Demonstrate or willing to acquire skills for utilizing online activities as enhancers to course content/material during interactive teaching and learning
• Assist with reviewing and revising of syllabus for specific course within the program and instructional guidelines
• Submit required program reports and forms to Director of the program in a timely manner
• Keep current with new technologies and safety regulations
• Maintains student records of attendance, grades, and skills check-off forms and assist with program data collection that meet set due dates and deadlines
• Assists with updating and maintaining student files as relates to clinical requirements, immunizations and educational requirements
• Teach courses at a variety of times and locations in responds to program needs
• Teaches both lecture content and clinical rotations (clinical rotations can be days, and/or evenings, on week days and/or weekends)
• Participate in professional development; maintain CE hours to ensure renewed licensure, takes responsibility for staying current with college updates
• Actively participates in committees as assigned, based on availability, taking into consideration teaching responsibilities as priority

Pay range:$40-$52/hr.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse with current CA licensure
• Graduate of an approved School of Nursing; Associates Degree in Nursing or Bachelor Science in Nursing or credentials as required by state regulations
• Able to meet the faculty requirements set by the Board of Vocational Nursing
• 3 yrs of Nursing experience with BSN or 6 yrs of Nursing experience with Associates
• Experience which demonstrates: Current knowledge of nursing practice; ability to mentor students in classroom, lab and clinical settings; ability to work independently without close supervision; broad knowledge of nursing sciences; successful handling of day to day operations in the nursing lab; proficient, strong communications skills verbal and written; current knowledge/experience in clinical setting
• Current immunizations and Basic Life Support Certification
• Must obtain ATI, Assessment Technology Institute Certification within 60 days of hire (offered by Unitek)
