Job summary

Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts in Van Nuys, CA is seeking an Assistant Program Director for our Vocational Nursing Program. This on-campus leadership role oversees daily academic operations and ensures the nursing curriculum is implemented effectively.

The ideal candidate holds a CA RN license, a Master’s degree in nursing/education/administration, and at least three years of direct patient care experience, with preferred school-management exposure.

Qualifications

• Current and unencumbered California RN license.
• Minimum 3 years of direct patient care as an RN.
• Master’s degree in nursing, education, or administration from an accredited college.
• Experience with educational processes; school administration preferred.
• Experience in management within a school environment preferred.
• Familiarity with clinical/hospital personnel at director/department head level preferred.

Basic Function

The Assistant Program Director of the Vocational Nursing Program is responsible for the management of daily academic implementation of the nursing curriculum. This position includes instructional responsibilities and functions under the supervision of the Campus Director and Director of Nursing. Responsible for supervision and coordination of clinical sites and schedules.

QualificationsRequirements

• Currentand unencumbered license as a RegisteredRfracunary nurse in the state of California
• Three year’s continuous experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care; or equivalent experience and/or education, as determined by the board
• A master’s or higher degree from an accredited college or university that includes course work in nursing, education, or administration
• Preferred knowledge of the educational process at other institutions
• Preferred management work experience in a school environment
• Working knowledge or experience interfacing with clinical and hospital personnel (Director or Department Head levels)
