Our work depends on a VMware Engineer joining our team to support Government activities in Sterling, VA or Annapolis Junction, MD. At GDIT, we foster a people-focused and customer-centric environment in delivering Desktop Engineering Services. As a VMware Engineer supporting the Government, you will be responsible for physical/virtual platforms, server build deployments, server virtualization, hyperconverged platforms, etc.
HOW A F5 SYSTEMS ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT: Designs and builds virtual environment service models including Infrastructure-as-a-Service and Platform-as-a-Service. Identifies, designs, and implements process improvements for the virtualization of and distribution of applications: automating manual processes, optimizing delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability Designs, implements, and maintains VMWare vSphere virtualization infrastructure, including ESXi hosts, vCenter Server, and vSAN Analyzes user's requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications Incorporates new plans, designs and systems into ongoing operations Develops system architecture and system design documentation Interacts with the Government regarding technical considerations and regarding associated problems, issues, or conflicts Responsible for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the Systems Engineering area of responsibility

The likely salary range for this position is $153,000 - $207,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
