Job summary

The Navajo Nation Gaming Enterprise seeks a VMware Engineer to modernize and sustain our virtualization and Microsoft environments. You will design, deploy and support VMware-based solutions, manage Windows Server, Active Directory, and Exchange, and implement robust DR and security practices.

Responsibilities include building SAN storage, configuring WAN/LAN networks, and enabling secure remote access via VPN, Terminal Services, and Citrix.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Five years’ experience in virtual environments with networking background.
• VCP certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Provide IT support for Microsoft core applications and virtualization environments.
• Design, implement, and support VMware-based virtualization infrastructure.
• Set up iSCSI / Fiber SAN and VMware infrastructure replication and setup.
• Configure LAN/WAN networks including VLANs, switches, and firewalls.
• Engineer and implement system solutions meeting customer needs.
• Implement and support disaster recovery solutions and security.
• Provide technical services and network-level support: WAN/LAN, routers, switches, and firewalls.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• IT support relating to technical issues involving Microsoft's core business applications,
• as well as virtual environments built on Citrix, Microsoft, and VMware Design,
• implementation, and support services for Microsoft related technologies: Windows
• Server, Exchange, File Server etc.
• The use of VMware technologies to design and maintain our virtualization
• infrastructure utilizing best practices.
• Experience with setting up iSCSI /Fiber SAN, replications and new VMware
• infrastructure setup.
• Experience in Setup LAN/WAN network including Vlans, switch stacking, redundant
• firewalls.
• Engineer and implement system solutions for customers using technologies that meet
• their needs Implement and support disaster recovery solutions Technical services and
• support at the network level: WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, switches, firewalls,
• and security.
• Remote access solution implementation and support: VPN, Terminal Services, and
• Citrix System documentation and consulting services to include system reviews and
• recommendations Communication with customers as required: keeping them
• informed of incident progress, notifying them of impending changes or agreed outages
• Support of VMWare, EMC, Data Domain, etc.
• Keeps abreast of new technologies and principles by conducting research, attending
• seminars, educational workshops, classes and conferences; reviewing professional

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field plus five (5) years’ work experience in Virtual Environment with a strong background in Networking. A VCP certificate required. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Must meet all knowledge, skills and abilities. No felony, theft or stealing convictions. Must be able successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen, background investigation, obtain and maintain gaming license. Navajo preference.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Knowledge and experience with VMware , vCenter and VMware 5.5 & up
• Knowledge and progressive experience with Windows 2003/2008/2012, Active
• Directory domain and Exchange preferred.
• Knowledge And Experience Administering MS Windows Systems Required.
• Knowledge and industry certifications (MCP, MCSA, or MCSE, Vmware VCP, CompTIA, CISSP, LPI, Cisco, etc)
• Knowledge and experience with Cisco Firewalls.
• Knowledge of all Server Operating Systems.
• Knowledge of types of Network Equipment.
• Knowledge of design of WAN/LAN.
• Knowledge of business English, proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation, and basic arithmetic.
• Skill in operating various word-processing, spreadsheets, and database software programs in a Windows environment, specifically Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
• Skill in planning, organizing and coordinating information technologies and prioritizing work activities in accordance with established goals and objectives.

Physical Demands

Work Environment

Work is generally performed in an office setting with a moderate noise level. Occasional work is performed in a Casino setting with exposure to second-hand smoke and a moderate noise level. Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required. Tight time constraints and multiple demands are common. Travel may be required.
