Job summary

Western International Gas & Cylinders, Inc. is seeking a Vendor Managed Inventory Route Driver to service VMI customers by delivering and loading inventory into vending machines and cabinets, while maintaining accurate order sheets.

Candidates should have 1–3 years in welding/gas industry preferred, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to lift 50 lbs with travel of 8–14 visits weekly to customer sites.

Qualifications

• Adhere to safety policies and vehicle policies, including daily safety trainings.
• 1–3 years welding/gas industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Visit VMI customers regularly, deliver and load inventory into vending machines or cabinets.
• Take orders on-site based on predetermined min/max quantities and communicate to the site office.
• Place cylinder gas orders with sites to ensure uninterrupted supply.
• Maintain customer relationships and assist with special orders or returns.
• Coordinate with Site Manager, OSR, ISR, and VMI Customer Service to update min/max and plan deliveries.

Job description

JOBTITLE – Vendor ManagedInventory RouteDriver Salary Range $29.00 to $30.00

EssentialFunction

• Adhere to allofCompanysafety policies, including those related todriving aCompanyvehicle (e.g. following the Smith System, etc.),keeping up to date on MATHESON's Safety trainings, and participation in dailyToolbox Talks.


• Visit VMI customers on a regular basis, delivering and loading inventory intovending machine(s) or parts cabinet(s).


• At a customer site(s), take the orders for the next delivery based onminimum/maximum quantities that are predetermined for each customer.Communicate orders to Site office for processing.


• Take cylinder gas orders at customer sites where needed, and communicate to the with the applicable sites and personnel so that orders can be placed andfulfilled


• Establish personal relationships with customers and end-users. Assistcustomers with any special orders they might have or return issues


• Work with the Site Manager (SM), Outside Sales Rep (OSR) and Inside Sales Rep(ISR), and VMI Customer Service Representative to ensure that each customer's Min/Max quantities make sense and are updated periodically as the businessneeds change. Fulfill and plan deliveries to ensure uninterruptedsupply of product to customer


• Work with the Site Manager and VMI Customer Service Rep to ensure theapplicable site inventory is organized and up to the right stocking levels tobe able to reliably service the customers


• Maintain good housekeeping at customer sites, applicable site and in theMATHESON VMI vehicle


• Responsible for identifying problematic issues that if not addressedwould result in an unsatisfied customer, notifying the right person orfunction promptly to ensure customer satisfaction and then following up toensure resolution


• Maintain order sheets on computer by deleting and adding lines as necessary.


• Perform other duties as needed, including being part of the operations andsales team, that may mean additional duties that contribute to the overallsuccess of the business. For example, driving a forklift (trainingprovided) to load trucks, etc.

Work Experience

• 1-3 years Welding/gas industry preferred

• Awareness of Safety and the ability to adhere to safety practices even when \"no one islooking\" and be part of building a culture of safety

• Computer Skills – ability to navigate and learn MATHESON's Ordering system(some training will be provided)


• Able to Plan and Organize the warehouse and an ordering / reordering system


• Present a professional business image as the \"face\" of MATHESON to thecustomer when needed


• Ability to Communicate externally with customers and internally with theMATHESON Site


• Teamwork – understands being part of a team means the needs of the teamcome first


• Able to take Coaching as a way of improvement of skills and practices overtime


• Ability to follow-up on time-sensitive issues at a customer site or at theMATHESON Site


• Valid driver's license
