Job summary

NVIDIA in Santa Clara, CA is seeking a R&D Software Engineer to advance VLSI physical design algorithms. You will help create optimization engines that raise chip frequency while lowering power across internal tool suites.

You will work at the intersection of software and hardware, delivering high-performance, multithreaded solutions and collaborating with design teams to deploy efficient flows using ICC2, Innovus, PrimeTime and scripting in Perl/Tcl/Python.

Qualifications

• Masters or PhD in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science (or equivalent).
• Experience with VLSI algorithms development using C++.
• Understanding of VLSI timing optimization and related concepts.
• Familiarity with design flows and tools such as ICC2, Innovus, PrimeTime, Tempus, StarRC; scripting in Perl, Tcl, Python.

Responsibilities

• Invent new optimization engines to increase chip frequency while reducing power across internal tools.
• Improve C++ algorithms for gate-level sizing, buffering, clock skew, legalization, routing, and parasitic extraction.
• Collaborate with design teams to deploy solutions from discovery to production.
