Job summary

Yoh is seeking an Laboratory Animal Technician in St. Louis, Missouri, working a 6:30am - 3:00pm shift. The role involves daily husbandry of rodents, recording census data, and maintaining clean animal quarters in a vivarium environment.

Qualified candidates will lift up to 30 lbs, have a High School Diploma or GED, and prefer 1 year of animal handling experience. Purina certification must be obtainable within 6 months.

Qualifications

  • Be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1 year of Animal Handling experience preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain Purina certification within 6 months.

Responsibilities

  • Provide and document daily husbandry care to rodents in the vivarium to include the provision of feed, water, clean cages, and enrichment.
  • Sanitize maintain rodent colony rooms to include sweeping and mopping of animal quarters, rotating animal cages, large equipment and room supplies for cleaning according to schedule and disinfecting all areas in room.
  • Daily observation is required to monitor behaviors, illness or death in animals and report to Supervisor, Facility Manager or Veterinarian in a timely fashion.
  • Keep record of daily animal census and sanitation of animal room.
