Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics in Cambridge, MA is seeking an experienced In Vivo Technician to support daily animal studies in a fast-paced lab. Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Execute in vivo studies in mice, including dosing (SC/IP/IV) and tissue collection.
• Provide study support: randomization, ear tagging, scheduling coordination.
• Monitor animal health and assist with treatments and husbandry.
• Maintain accurate data records and assist with study oversight.
• Collaborate with Study Lead and team in a fast-paced environment.

When & Where

• Full-time, standard business hours with occasional weekend and holidays as part of a rotation to provide animal care 7 days a week
• On-site laboratory setting (Cambridge, MA)
• Minimal to no travel; on-site presence required to support lab operations

Discover Your Role

• Execute in vivo studies independently or as part of a team (mice): routine injections (sc, ip, iv), body weight collection, clinical observation, blood sample collection, tumor measurement (caliper and IVIS imaging), and necropsies with extensive tissue list collection
• Provide study support: ear tagging, randomizing, and coordination of activities with the Study Lead and team
• Support and provide constructive feedback to refine in vivo sciences processes
• Monitor animal health and assist with treatment
• Help with animal husbandry, supply stocking, and animal health checks as needed (including weekends/holidays in rotation)
• Operate in a fast-paced environment with changing daily schedules

This Role Requires

• 3+ years of experience performing technical in vivo tasks, including animal handling; basic study tasks (dosing IP/IV/SC) and collection of blood and tissues
• AALAS certification preferred
• Proficiency with computers and tools such as Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Excel
• Team player with excellent oral and written communication skills and a “do-what-it-takes” attitude
• Independently motivated, detail-oriented, and strong problem-solving skills
• Excellent organizational skills for multitasking amid changing priorities
• Flexible schedule; able to work weekends and holidays as needed
