Job summary

Qualifications

• Trade school graduate or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in operation or management of building and equipment systems; vivarium equipment preferred.
• AALAS ALAT certification within 18 months of hire.
• Ability to handle multiple, simultaneous, complex tasks and projects.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).

Responsibilities

• Direct all work order and project management in animal research facilities.
• Develop and implement a work order tracking program.
• Coordinate preventative maintenance for vivarium equipment.
• Oversee pest monitoring and control program.
• Ensure environmental monitoring systems are validated.
• Manage projects and coordinate with UMMS personnel and external contractors.
• Communicate with faculty and staff to provide high quality animal care services.
