The Division of Laboratory Animal Resources at the University of Kentucky seeks a STEPS Vivarium Cage Wash Technician to assist with facility maintenance and cage wash duties. This temporary full-time role requires following SOPs and maintaining cleanliness and safety in animal housing areas.

Responsibilities include leading cage wash activities, sterilizing cages and equipment, and ensuring efficient flow of supplies through the wash area, while complying with safety guidelines and DLAR SOPs at

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• No related experience required.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds and work in hot, wet areas.

Responsabilités

• Leads activities in cage wash area, ensures completion of all cage wash activities.
• Cleans and sterilizes cages, equipment, supplies, rooms (primary and secondary enclosures), etc., including floor maintenance.
• Completes more complex operations including on-going maintenance of equipment.
• Maintains efficient organization and flow of supplies and equipment through cage wash area.
• Prepares refuse for disposal or incineration.
