Job summary

The Laboratory Animal Resource (LAR) group at Princeton University is seeking an Animal Cage Wash Technician to operate and maintain cage washing equipment across LAR facilities and ensure the highest standards of animal care. This role reports to the LAR Facility Manager and requires teamwork with other technicians, students, and researchers.

Responsibilities include maintaining supplies, rotating weekend/holiday coverage, documenting data in management systems, and supporting humane animal

Qualifications

• High school Diploma or GED.
• AALAS ALAT certification within the first year of employment.
• Willing and able to lift a minimum of 50 lb.
• Essential services staff; must be able to work weekends/holidays.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain cage wash machinery per SOPs.
• Assist with cage change outs and animal care tasks as directed by the LAR Facility Manager.
• Maintain clean animal rooms, procedure rooms, and support areas; keep accurate records.
• Rotate through facilities and cover weekends/holidays as needed.
