The Vitamin/Body Care Assistant is responsible for assisting the Vitamin and Body Care Managers in the successful operation and profitability of the vitamin and body care departments.

Responsibilities
- Providing world-class customer service and a positive customer experience as the top priority daily.

- Creating inviting, full, and shopable departments.
- Assisting department managers with ordering, maintaining accurate inventory levels, managing margins, driving sales, and overall department profitability, including minimizing shrink and maximizing effective purchasing.
- Ensuring all in-stock products meet company standards.
- Offering and following up on special orders.
- Merchandising shelves, endcaps, and dynamic displays.
- Participating in tagging, facing, rotating, cleaning, markdowns, stocking, and backstock activities.
- Training and monitoring department personnel, including task assignment and follow-up.
- Conducting active and passive demos.
- Addressing performance issues within the department in collaboration with managers.
- Supporting store opening and closing activities, including Daily Sales Reports (DSR), cash handling, and cashier closeout responsibilities.
- Handling register functions, including backup cashiering, managing customer returns, addressing complaints, and covering register shifts, including breaks.
- Maintaining customer and employee safety and security.
- Answering customer questions per company standards, including the use of health supportive statements and nutritional support.
- Continuously increasing product knowledge.
- Using SAP, inventory management software, email, and other IS programs as needed.
- Working a schedule based on store needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. The position requires working five days, 40 hours per week, and attending mandatory store meetings.
- This position has limited Manager on Duty responsibilities but is not intended to be the overall Manager on Duty for the store.

Qualifications
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
- 1 year of experience in grocery or retail environment preferred; natural foods background is a plus.
- 1 year of supervisory experience preferred.
- 1 year of experience in vitamins/supplements preferred.
- Ability to pass food safety training courses and/or certifications as required by law, maintaining compliance and up-to-date certifications.
- Ability to manage changing priorities and stay focused.
- A sense of urgency in task completion.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Highly organized with great attention to detail.
- Ability to follow directions and complete tasks.
- Must be cashier trained and able to count currency.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
