Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an associate to assist Vitamin and Body Care Managers in operating profitable departments. You will deliver world‑class service, help create inviting and shopable spaces, and support inventory, merchandising, and displays across the vitamin and body care areas.

The role requires teamwork, training responsibilities, movement of stock, and multitasking across store operations, cash handling, and safety. A flexible schedule is required.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent preferred.
  • 1 year of experience in grocery or retail environment preferred; natural foods background is a plus.
  • 1 year of experience supervising others preferred.
  • 1 year of experience in vitamins/supplements preferred.
  • Ability to pass food safety training courses and/or certifications as required by law and maintain certifications up to date.
  • Ability to manage changing priorities and stay focused.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Highly organized with great attention to detail.
  • Must be cashier trained and able to count currency.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Vitamin and Body Care Managers with operation and profitability of the departments.
  • Provide World Class Customer Service and a positive customer experience.
  • Create inviting, full and shopable departments.
  • Assist with ordering and maintaining accurate inventory levels.
  • Help manage margins, drive sales, minimize shrink, and maximize purchasing efficiency.
  • Ensure in-stock products meet company standards.
  • Offer and follow up on special orders.
  • Merchandise shelves, endcaps, and dynamic displays.
  • Assist with tagging, facing, rotating, cleaning, markdowns, stocking, and backstock.
  • Assist in training and monitoring department personnel.
  • Conduct active and passive demos.
  • Work with department managers to address performance issues.
  • Support store opening and closing activities, including DSR, cash handling, and cashier closeout responsibilities.
  • Handle register functions, backup cashiering, customer returns, complaints, and register shift changes.
  • Maintain customer and employee safety and security.
  • Answer customer questions using Health Supportive Statements and nutritional statements.
  • Continually increase product knowledge.
  • Use SAP, inventory management software, email, and other IS programs.
  • Work five days and 40 hours per week, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and mandatory store meetings.
  • Perform limited Manager on Duty duties; not as overall MOD.
  • Perform additional assigned tasks as needed.

  • Must be cashier trained and able to count currency.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to constantly lift or carry up to 10 lbs., frequently lift or carry 11–20 lbs., occasionally lift or carry 21–50 lbs., and occasionally lift or carry 51–100 lbs. with a team lift.
  • Ability to frequently push or pull up to 15 lbs. and occasionally push or pull 16–100 lbs.
  • Ability to occasionally use a computer for data entry and use of mouse.
  • Ability to constantly walk, stand, use fine motor manipulations, grip, bend, twist, turn, and reach outward for the duration of the work shift.
  • Ability to frequently reach above chest and occasionally sit, squat, kneel, and climb.
  • Ability to frequently work with sharp tools and equipment, dust, fumes, and congested worksite.
  • Ability to occasionally work with noise, cold, heat, wet, humid, outside, heights, and contact stress.
Core Competencies

Demonstrates strong customer service skills and the ability to manage inventory effectively while ensuring compliance with food safety standards. Proficient in using inventory management software and capable of training and supervising team members in a retail environment.
