Job summary

Jobtailor in Sandy, UT is seeking a retail team member to assist with daily store operations and deliver exceptional customer service. You will help customers, organize merchandise, and support the Store Manager with opening/closing procedures and loss prevention tasks.

You will maintain clean, well-stocked shelves, assist in merchandising, and follow safety policies while contributing to a positive, professional store environment for both customers and associates.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor as needed.
• Maintain seasonal areas of the store.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of storefront fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping, payroll, scheduling, cash deposits and receipts, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure associates follow policies.
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, professional, and friendly environment.
• Maintain store cleanliness, including bathrooms, floors, trash, and neatness.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Process corporate directives, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information requests, and other store communications
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of storefront fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping, payroll, scheduling, cash register deposits and receipts, and loss prevention
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards

• Adhere to safety policies and procedures and ensure associates follow company policies

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
• Ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives (e.g., merchandise schematics, etc.) is required
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height
• Must meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required
