Job summary

The State of Florida Department of Health seeks a Records Technician to serve as Vital Statistics Deputy Registrar. This role guides the provision of Vital Statistics laws to hospital birth certifier’s county wide, funeral homes, and the public, ensuring complete and accurate processing of birth and death records.

You will review documents for completeness, collect fees, handle cash, and maintain serialized certificates.

Qualifications

• Experience assisting clients by phone or in person, reviewing documents with confidential information, handling cash and operating credit/debit card machines.
• Ability to lift 20 pounds, stand, sit, walk, bend, reach, and kneel.

Responsibilities

• Acts as Vital Statistics Deputy Registrar guiding the provision of Vital Statistics laws to hospital birth certifier’s county wide, funeral homes and the public.
• Ensures completeness and accuracy of processing birth/death records per Florida statutes and regulations.
• Processes service billings through the eVitals system and reconciles fees collected.
