Job summary

CVOEO is hiring a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Site Coordinator in Addison County to oversee the daily operations of a VITA site, ensuring the delivery of free tax preparation services to low-to-moderate-income individuals, older adults, and others.

You will train, support, and supervise volunteers, ensure IRS VITA/TCE compliance, and promote a welcoming, efficient environment for clients and volunteers throughout the tax season. The role is seasonal with pay $23.58-$26.41/hour.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in an appropriate discipline and two years of community service experience.
• Accounting and/or income tax preparation experience highly desirable.
• Commitment to helping those living in poverty and low-income communities.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment with client information.
• Must have a valid license, clean driving record, reliable transportation, and ability to travel within the CVOEO service area.
• Ability to uphold safety standards.

This is a seasonal and temporary position, the rate of pay is $23.58-$26.41 per hour

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in an appropriate discipline plus two years of community service experience, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.
• Accounting and/or income tax preparation experience highly desirable.
• Sound understanding, interest in and commitment to those living in poverty and the overall needs and problems of the low-income community.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive client information.
• Must have a valid license, clean driving record, access to reliable transportation and willingness and ability to travel within the CVOEO service area
• Ability to uphold safety standards
