Job summary

Tempe Community Council (TCC) seeks a motivated Site Assistant for the VITA tax site at Gracie’s Village Community Room in Tempe. Work with the Site Coordinator to staff the program with trained volunteers and ensure smooth operations during the Dec 2026–May 2027 period.

Essential duties include coordinating space setup, monitoring program inventory, training volunteers, and assisting with end-of-season events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, Excel.
• Strong communication and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist TCC staff and VITA Site Coordinator with coordinating move in/out of the program room.
• Monitor inventory necessary to the functionality of the VITA program.
• Step into Site Coordinator role during emergencies or absences.
• Recruit, train and oversee site volunteers.
• Develop supplemental training for volunteers beyond IRS certification.
• Maintain volunteer certification records.
• Provide refreshments and manage kitchen area for volunteers.
• Coordinate with staff on cleaning needs and supplies.
• Inventory all VITA equipment and supplies at setup and closeout.
