Job summary

HealthPRO Pediatrics in Moncks Corner, SC is hiring a dedicated Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) for a full-time, on-site role. You will support students with visual impairments, collaborate with therapists and teachers, and help develop Individualized Education Programs.

The position offers competitive hourly pay of $40-$46, generous PTO, year-round benefits, and a supportive, collaborative team focused on growth and excellence.

Qualifications

  • Experience in special education for visually-impaired students is preferred.
  • Ability to plan teaching strategies and objectives aligned to state standards.
  • Effective communication with parents, school staff, and related agencies.
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate assessments and diagnostic information.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for summaries, evaluations and reports.
  • Ability to design and conduct in-service training for district staff and parents.

  • Stay current with clinical, theoretical, and educational research and regulations for visually-impaired programs.
  • Provide in-service education about programs for the visually impaired to district personnel and parents.

Qualifications
  • Knowledge of: Special education programs for visually-impaired students.
  • Knowledge of: Methods and strategies for assessing and teaching visually-impaired students from birth through age 21.
  • Knowledge of: Current special education laws, regulations, and case law.
  • Knowledge of: Braille instruction.
  • Ability to: Work effectively with visually-impaired students.
  • Ability to: Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and related agencies.
  • Ability to: Plan teaching strategies and set appropriate objectives to enhance access to the core curriculum and meet state standards.
  • Ability to: Analyze and evaluate assessments and diagnostic information.
  • Ability to: Express ideas effectively both verbally and in writing, including writing summaries, evaluations, and reports.
  • Ability to: Design and conduct in-service training for district staff and parents.
  • Ability to: Explore, develop, and implement public and community program options.
