Qualifications

• Associate degree in business or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage, implement, and customize planograms in all stores on a monthly basis as changes become necessary.
• Lead or assist with merchandising of new stores or remodeling of stores which may include longer or non-traditional hours to complete.
• Assemble or dismantle visual displays.

The Visual Merchandiser is responsible for effectively managing all aspects of implementation of planograms in all stores (Ace Discovery / Vendor programs) and customize those as necessary. The duties of this position are to be performed while demonstrating all of Sunshine Ace Hardware's Core Values.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Education And Experience

• Associate degree in business or related field preferred; or, high school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum of 5 years retail experience, Hardware Retail preferred (minimum of 3 years Merchandising experience)
• Proven ability to manage large scale projects in a complex environment

Required

• Possession of a valid State of Florida Driver License with a clean driving record in accordance with the company's insurance carrier's standards
• Reliable personal transportation with current auto liability insurance for operating personal automobile required
• Out of town/overnight travel working out of all store locations. Reimbursement provided for travel, mileage and accommodations
• Out of town/overnight travel for industry events (e.g. trade shows) and/or professional development conferences and seminars 2-3 times per year
• Forklift Operator's certification or the ability to attain
• Working hours are typically 40 hours per week. Early morning starts or late night finishes, as work must generally take place before or after business hours as this work is disruptive to the retail sales floor. At times, overtime or overnight work may be required

Physical Demands

• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• Tasks involve the ability to exert moderate, though not constant physical effort, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling.
• Requires repetitive pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, reaching, lifting, carrying, twisting, hand grasping, fine finger manipulation and climbing ladders
• Frequently lift, carry, push and/or pull weights of approximately 5-20 lbs; ability to occasionally reach, bend, balance, lift and transport various objects weighing up to 40 lbs repeatedly throughout the shift; Occasionally lift, carry, push and/or pull weights up to 50 lbs with team lift. Requires the ability to move heavy products (50+lbs) with assistance
• Tasks may risk exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as fumes, toxic agents/chemicals, and noise extremes
• Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (Safety footwear, safety glasses, gloves, masks, etc.)
