Job summary

Wellman Dynamics Division is seeking a Visual Inspector to perform Rough, Final, and Shipping inspections on metal castings in Creston, IA. The role requires attention to detail, the ability to read written instructions, and the capacity to meet production goals while following IIS procedures.

Preferred candidates have prior inspection experience in metal casting and a pre-employment physical; on-the-job training will be provided.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalency is required.
Experience with inspection processes in metal casting is preferred; FPI certification is a plus.
On-the-job training is provided.

Responsibilities

Visual Inspection – Rough, Final, and Shipping.
Demonstrate knowledge and perform precise review of each casting to meet IIS requirements.
Pass a competency test to receive an inspection certification stamp.
Inspect finished or in-process castings and determine acceptance/rejection using measuring tools.
Use hand gauges, micrometers, and ultrasonic testers.
Calibrate equipment and verify testing accuracy before use.
Reinspect castings for nonconformances across inspection steps.
Identify defects and document casting numbers, serial numbers, and traveler IDs.
Follow safety rules and wear required PPE.
Other duties as assigned.
