Job summary

Nivagen Pharmaceuticals Inc, Sacramento, CA, is seeking a Visual Inspection and Packing Operator. The role focuses on manual inspection of filled containers, packing, and ensuring products meet quality standards in a cGMP environment.

You will operate inspection and packaging equipment, maintain accurate documentation, and collaborate with production teams to ensure timely, compliant manufacturing and packaging operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or degree in a related field is a plus.
• 1-3 years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, visual inspection, or packaging
• Knowledge of cGMP, FDA regulations, and SOPs related to sterile and non-sterile pharmaceutical production.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to detect visual defects.
• Proficiency in operating inspection and packaging equipment.
• Ability to follow written instructions and complete documentation accurately.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual inspection of filled containers (vials, pre-filled syringes, cartridges, IV bags).
• Identify defects and ensure no defective product is shipped to the market.
• Prepare defect library and kits for inspection machines.
• Assist with SOPs, batch records, and maintenance documentation for VI, leak testing, and packing equipment.
• Handle, transport, and store semi-finished and finished products per storage conditions.
• Prevent cross-contamination and mix-up errors; work with cross-functional teams.
• Validate equipment and areas per approved protocols and prepare for routine manufacturing.
• Stand, walk, and lift up to 35 kg; maintain good hand-eye coordination for inspection/packing.
• Follow procedures and document details in batch records and SOPs.
