Job summary

UPMC Vision Institute, Mercy Vision Institute, 1622 Locust Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15219, is seeking an Ocular Electrophysiology Tech for a full-time role with hours 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Travel to UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh is rare but may be required for coverage.

The position involves specialized diagnostic testing of visual pathways and retinal function, with responsibilities that include protocol development, testing, staff training, and HIPAA-compliant data

Qualifications

• 2+ years in an ocular electrophysiology lab or 3+ years in ocular testing/imaging, or a related degree preferred.
• Ophthalmic technician experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and update testing protocols.
• Perform electrophysiology tests (ERG, EOG, VEP).
• Train staff and residents on equipment and new technologies.
• Order and maintain supplies for the laboratory.
• Prepare patients for testing and ensure data integrity and HIPAA compliance.
• Explain procedures to parents and patients.
