Job summary

Precision Castparts in Portland, OR seeks an Inspector to visually and dimensionally inspect castings, ensuring compliance with customer specifications and identifying surface defects.

You will review tech cards, fixture parts as needed, inspect after heat treating, measure with calipers, micrometers and height gauges, and document dimensional issues for engineering action. Safety and on-the-job training are provided.

Qualifications

• Visual and dimensional inspection skills to use precision measuring tools.
• Ability to read, interpret and follow specifications on tech cards and other technical material.
• Ability to perform dimensional inspection applying proper techniques.
• Ability to read precision hand tools.
• Vision 20/30 with color and depth perception tests.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual inspection of castings to identify surface defects.
• Inspect castings for conformance to blueprint and tech card specifications.
• Enter dimensional data into computer for engineering purposes and prepare reports.
