Job summary

Norwest Christian College in Riverstone, NSW, invites applications for a Visual Arts Teacher to join the Secondary School from Term 1, 2027, with possible earlier start by mutual agreement. The role covers Visual Arts, Photographic and Digital Media, and senior creative courses within a faith-based learning community.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Visual Arts across Stages 4–6, including electives and senior classes.
  • Teach Stage 5 Photographic and Digital Media and Stage 6 Preliminary Photography, Video and Digital Imaging.
  • Design engaging lessons developing technical skill, critical thinking and confidence.
  • Support students in developing portfolios and exhibition practices.
  • Use a range of media, technologies and contemporary art practices to enrich teaching.
  • Contribute to the creative life of the College through exhibitions and events.
  • Maintain accurate assessment, reporting and student progress records.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Creative and Performing Arts faculty and pursue professional learning.
  • Engage in pastoral care and authentically integrate Christian faith into teaching.

Norwest Christian College is seeking a passionate and capable Visual Arts Teacher to join our Secondary School team from Term 1, 2027, with the possibility of an earlier start date by mutual agreement. About the role

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in the Creative and Performing Arts faculty and contribute to ongoing professional learning.
  • Engage in pastoral care responsibilities and authentically integrate Christian faith into teaching practice and student relationships.
About you

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a personal faith and commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ and a lifestyle consistent with that faith, including active involvement in a Christian fellowship.

  • Relevant teaching qualifications and current NESA accreditation, or eligibility to obtain accreditation.
  • Successful experience teaching Visual Arts, with HSC Visual Arts experience highly regarded.
  • Strong classroom management, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to academic excellence and high expectations for student learning.
  • A collaborative approach to program development, resource sharing and professional growth.
