Job summary
Guilford Technical Community College (GTCC) seeks an Adjunct Faculty member to teach Visual Arts courses across transfer and career-technical programs. Courses may include Art Appreciation, Art History, Drawing, Two-/Three-Dimensional Design, Painting, Figure Drawing, Sculpture, Ceramics, Printmaking and Digital Photography.
Online/lab instruction via Canvas is expected, with potential day or evening hours.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to design and deliver learner-centered lessons
- Ability to teach a range of visual arts courses incl. Art Appreciation, Art History, Drawing, Design, Painting, Photography
- Experience with Canvas and online learning environments
- Commitment to diversity and student success
- Knowledge of current technology in classroom and lab settings
Responsibilities
- Prepare and teach departmental courses including learner-centered lesson plans and varied instructional materials
- Maintain professional status through ongoing development and credentials as required
- Oversee facilities, equipment and student records, ensure safe, compliant operations
- Support student success through recruitment, retention strategies and resource referrals
- Perform duties as assigned by supervisor and maintain student records
