Guilford Technical Community College seeks an adjunct faculty member to teach watercolor, from beginner to advanced levels, and to support the community education program. The instructor will prepare learner-centered lessons, employ diverse teaching strategies, and integrate current technology in classroom and online settings.
The role emphasizes maintaining a quality learning environment, assessing student outcomes, and upholding the college's standards across facilities and records.
Teaching faculty at Guilford Technical Community College ( GTCC ) are responsible for supporting student success by creating an optimum learning environment, responding to student needs, managing effective instructional activities, modeling employability skills, demonstrating professionalism, developing cooperative work relationships with other faculty and staff, supporting college administrative requirements, and maintaining competency in their instructional field. He/she will be responsible for quality instruction and for effective participation and interest in the total affairs of the college.
Under general supervision, this individual will be responsible for teaching students the familiarity with art styles and practice techniques in creating watercolor paintings, including layering, washes and color usage. This individual should be able to teach watercolor painting from beginners to advanced levels in watercolor. The community education program consists of a wide variety of personal and professional enrichment classes designed to meet a multiplicity of life-long learning educational needs within the community.
