Job summary

Guilford Technical Community College (GTCC) invites applications for a teaching faculty role focused on supporting transition to employment and education for youths with Autism Spectrum Disorder. The instructor will provide instructional training, counseling services, and employability skill development across GTCC campuses.

Required is a Bachelor’s in Special Education or related field; a Master’s is preferred.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Psychology, or related field from an accredited college/university.
Master’s Degree in Special Education, Psychology, or related field preferred.
Experience in communication skills, listening, writing, and speaking.
Experience working with MS Office products.
Experience in multi-tasking, troubleshooting problems, and ability to create resolutions with minimum supervision.

Responsibilities

Teaching: develop learner-centered lesson plans and use varied instructional materials.
Professional Development: participate in ongoing training to maintain currency in the field and credentials.
Administration: maintain classroom and lab spaces and ensure safety and compliance with rules.
Student Support: address student concerns and promote retention and success.
Demonstrate employability skills such as adaptability, communication, problem solving, and teamwork.
Additional Duties: perform duties as assigned by supervisor.
