Job summary

Conservation Legacy is seeking a Visitor Services/Biological Science Technician IP at Valle de Oro NWR in Albuquerque, NM. The role blends visitor services with biology support to engage the public, coordinate events, and assist with habitat projects.

The position is an AmeriCorps term with a 50-week schedule, offering a Segal Education Award and weekly living allowance, plus training and travel accommodations where applicable.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of customer service etiquette and visitor center operations.
• Experience with social media and graphic design is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with environmental education and interpretation programming.
• Coordinate with local clubs and manage visitor outreach.
• Post and coordinate the Refuge’s social media content and campaigns.
• Coordinate the Valle de Oro NWR Photo Contest.
• Assist with volunteer coordination and front desk support.
• Provide information and orientation to visitors about programs and permits.
• Support habitat and landscape restoration tasks as needed.
