Visiting Research Scientist position in the Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology at the University of Illinois Chicago. Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge in neuroscience and stem cell research.
• Experience with lab procedures such as tissue culture, mouse handling, surgeries and behavior testing.
• Experience in manuscript and grant writing is a significant advantage.
• PhD required in biological sciences, preferably neuroscience, stem cell biology or related field.

Responsabilités

• Execute experiments planned with the PI.
• Standardize and systematize laboratory protocols and maintain records.
• Write manuscripts and grant applications under PI supervision.
• Guide graduate, undergraduate and postdoctoral fellows.
• Maintain inventory of lab resources and equipment.
• Communicate needs and manage lab supplies and orders.
• Implement general lab safety, training and waste management procedures.
• Ensure compliance with safety requirements.
• Coordinate ongoing experimental protocols and tests.
• Perform routine molecular biology and biochemical procedures.
• Test, optimize and apply new and existing methods.
• Collaborate with PI and lab members on procedures.
• Carry out mouse husbandry, colony maintenance, and genotyping.
• Participate in special projects as assigned.
