Qualifications

• Licensed to practice law with Maine bar license or eligibility.
• Proven clinical teaching and student mentoring.
• Experience with and knowledge of Maine’s rural communities.
• Law practice experience of 10+ years preferred across a range of matters.
• Strong academic record and excellent writing, research, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise student attorneys at the Rural Practice Clinic (RPC).
• Oversee the Administrative Manager and RPC operations.
• Mentor students and provide feedback; conduct written evaluations and grading.
• Oversee all client interviewing, counseling, investigation, research, drafting, negotiations, and court/agency appearances.
• Ensure ethical and strategic decision-making and prepare students for advocacy work.
