The Department of Environmental Engineering is seeking a part-time Visiting Lab Instructor. This role combines facility oversight with academic instruction. The successful candidate will manage the department's laboratory infrastructure, lead practical lab courses, and provide technical guidance and support to undergraduate and graduate students in their laboratory work.

DUTIES:
  • Supervise environmental engineering labs and field stations.
  • Teach Environmental Sampling labs and other courses as needed.
  • Train students in safe lab practices.
  • Assist undergraduate and graduate students in laboratory works.
  • Order chemicals, equipment and supplies for laboratories.
  • Monitor and lead laboratory waste disposal efforts.
  • Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering or a closely related discipline. Advanced students currently pursuing their M.S. or Ph.D. are highly encouraged to apply and will be fully considered.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Professional Engineering (PE) License or capability to obtain a PE license
  • Experience in laboratory supervision and field environmental data collection
Physical Demands:
  • The ability to walk stairs, and lift up to 25lbs with or without an accommodation.
