Job summary

Virginia Military Institute seeks a Visiting Assistant Professor of English for a one-year appointment beginning January or August 2027. Responsibilities include teaching Core Curriculum courses in written and/or oral communication (12 contact hours per term) and mentoring students.

All classes will be taught in person at VMI, with a focus on Rhetoric and Composition. A Ph.D. in English or related field is required, and previous teaching experience is essential for consideration.
