The School of Public Policy at The Pennsylvania State University invites applications for a full-time Visiting Assistant Professor position starting Fall 2025, with flexibility.
Responsibilities include conducting high-quality research and supporting the research agenda of Professor Anthony Bertelli, the Sherwin Whitmore Chair of Liberal Arts.
Candidates should have research interests in bureaucratic politics and/or European politics, possess advanced proficiency in quantitative methods, and demonstrate a strong background in theory building. The ideal candidate will be an independent and motivated researcher. Fluent English skills are required; fluency in another language such as French, German, Italian, Portuguese, or Spanish is desirable.
Preference will be given to those who can teach statistics, policy analysis, or economics policy in the Master of Public Policy program and the undergraduate course on State, Society, and Public Policy.
This position involves resident instruction and university service. The teaching load during the academic year is three courses. Onsite teaching is essential.
A Ph.D. in public policy, political science, or a related field is required by the appointment date. This is a non-tenure-track, term position with potential renewal, at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor.
