Visiting Assistant Professor of Public Policy

REQ_0000065361 -- Visiting Assistant Professor of Public Policy

The School of Public Policy at The Pennsylvania State University invites applications for a full-time Visiting Assistant Professor to start Fall 2025, with flexibility.

Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct high-quality research and support the research agenda of Professor Anthony Bertelli, the Sherwin Whitmore Chair of Liberal Arts.
  2. Teach statistics, policy analysis, or economics policy in the Master of Public Policy Program and the State, Society, and Public Policy course at the undergraduate level.
  3. Provide resident instruction and participate in normal university service.

Your teaching load during the academic year is three courses for the School of Public Policy. Onsite teaching is an essential function of this job.

Qualifications:

  1. A Ph.D. in public policy, political science, or related field is required by the appointment date.
  2. Research interests in bureaucratic politics and/or European politics.
  3. Advanced proficiency in quantitative methods and a strong background in theory building.
  4. Fluent English language skills are required; fluency in another language, such as French, German, Italian, Portuguese, or Spanish, is desirable.

This is a non-tenure-track, term position with the possibility of renewal. This position will be filled at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor.
