Job description

This one semester faculty appointment carries a normal teaching load, with primary responsibility for teaching introductory physics and astronomy courses.

  • Teach undergraduate astronomy and physics courses in traditional, online, and/or dual-credit formats
  • Maintain effective teaching practices and contribute to the mission of the Department of Physics and Geosciences
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of current instructional practices, learner-centered teaching methods, assessment strategies, and student engagement techniques.
  • Skill in utilizing new and novel instructional technology and alternative delivery methods
  • Skill in effective oral and written communication
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students
Minimum Qualifications
  • PhD degree in physics, astronomy, or a closely related field at the time of employment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to teach undergraduate astronomy and physics courses in traditional, online, and dual-credit formats
