The Environmental Policy and Culture Program (EPC) at Northwestern University invites applications for two full-time, three-year visiting assistant professorships to begin September 1, 2027. EPC is an interdisciplinary undergraduate program with over 100 majors and minors, focusing on environmental subjects.

VAPs will teach five courses annually, participate in program events, mentor students, and contribute to community building; salary base ranges with negotiation; strong benefits offered.

Qualifications

• PhD in a humanities or social science field or equivalent professional experience by start date.
• Significant college-level teaching experience.
• PhD or equivalent by Sept 1, 2027.

Responsibilities

• Teach five courses per year, with at least three distinct classes.
• Participate in program life, mentoring students and community-building activities.
• Engage in course development and innovative teaching approaches.
