Job summary

Northwestern Pritzker School of Law in Chicago invites applications for Visiting Assistant Professor (VAP) positions with an expected start date ahead of the 2027-28 academic year. VAPs participate in scholarly community, receive mentorship, and teaching support; positions are full-time and benefits eligible.

The expected base pay range is $75,000 - $85,000 for a twelve-month academic appointment and is negotiable.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor or equivalent law degree from any accredited school.
• Experience practicing law or PhD in any field with scholarly interest in law is encouraged.
• VAP appointments are typically for one year with possible one-year renewal.

Responsibilities

• Teach a substantive course in consultation with curriculum leadership.
• Participate in Northwestern's scholarly community and present research.
• Engage in mentorship and academic placement support for VAPs.
