Job Summary

The Department of Physics seeks an outstanding educator for a one‑year appointment as a full‑time, 12‑month Visiting Assistant Professor. The anticipated start date is September 1, 2026, with classes starting on Tuesday, September 22, 2026. The primary responsibilities will be teaching Drexel's large introductory‑level service courses, but duties may also include undergraduate instruction at all levels. The successful candidate will employ a variety of strategies to foster student learning, including encouraging active learning, promoting an inclusive classroom environment, maintaining proper course‑related records, and promptly providing students with feedback as to their progress toward meeting the course objectives. Teaching responsibilities may include face‑to‑face or online instruction during the day or evening. A full‑time teaching load consists of 12 credit hours per term, which typically corresponds to 3 courses or lecture sections.

The appointment will be for 1 year with no possibility of renewal.
