Job Summary
The Department of Mathematics and Statistics in the College of Arts & Sciences at Cleveland State University has openings for two (2) Visiting Assistant College Lecturer positions beginning August 18, 2025. This is a non-tenure-track position. Visiting positions may be renewed for an additional 2 years, dependent on funding.
The successful applicant is expected to teach a mix of first-year and second-year mathematics and/or statistics courses. The workload for this position consists primarily of teaching a variety of introductory courses, and some departmental service. There is no research expectation. The Department of Mathematics and Statistics offers B.S., B.A., and M.S. degrees in Mathematics and in Statistics.

Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a mathematical science (such as mathematics, statistics, math education, or a related field);
- Previous experience teaching mathematics and/or statistics;
- Strong communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Broad experience teaching a variety of college-level courses including pre-calculus, calculus, statistics, quantitative reasoning, and developmental mathematics;
- Extensive longitudinal experience teaching at least one of the following categories of courses: (i) pre-calculus and calculus (ii) statistics (iii) quantitative reasoning and developmental mathematics;
- Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching, such as mentoring students, participating in teaching workshops, and enhancing student engagement and success;
- Demonstrated service contributions in an academic environment;
- Evidence of effective communication and interpersonal skills;
- Experience working collaboratively in the context of a coordinated course.
