Job Summary

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Cleveland State University has openings for two (2) Visiting Assistant College Lecturer positions starting August 18, 2025. These are non-tenure-track roles, with potential renewal for an additional 2 years, contingent on funding.

The successful candidate will teach a mix of first-year and second-year mathematics and/or statistics courses, primarily introductory courses, along with departmental service. There is no research requirement. The department offers B.S., B.A., and M.S. degrees in Mathematics and Statistics.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a mathematical science or related field
• Previous teaching experience in mathematics and/or statistics

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience teaching college-level courses such as pre-calculus, calculus, statistics, quantitative reasoning, and developmental mathematics
• Extensive experience teaching at least one of the following: pre-calculus and calculus, statistics, or quantitative/developmental mathematics
• Commitment to teaching excellence and student engagement
• Contributions to academic service
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience collaborating on coordinated courses
