Job summary

The Town of Clarksville is seeking an experienced Town Manager to lead a Council‑Manager government and steer financial, operations, and strategic initiatives for a historic community near Louisville.

Ideal candidates will bring strong intergovernmental relations skills, boardmanship, and a track record in public sector management, with residency within Clarksville expected within six months of appointment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Urban Affairs, or related field with municipal government experience.
• At least five years as City/Town Manager or Assistant Manager with public-sector operations experience.
• Residency within Clarksville’s boundaries within six months of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Direct coordination, support, and operation of Town’s departments as Town Manager.
• Advise Town Council in policy actions with solid financial/operational analysis.
• Develop relationships with elected officials and guide a collaborative, partisan council environment.
• Lead employee development, community engagement, and excellent citizen service.
