The Saydel Community School District, Des Moines, Iowa, is seeking an exceptional leader to serve as its next Superintendent, beginning July 1, 2027. McPherson & Jacobson, L.L.C.

are engaged as consultants to assist the School Board in identifying and screening candidates. The Superintendent serves as the CEO of the Saydel Community School District, providing educational, operational, organizational, and fiscal leadership to ensure high-quality opportunities for every student.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution.
• Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution.
• Ed.S., Advanced Studies Certificate, or doctorate in the area of superintendency.
• Hold or be eligible to obtain an Iowa Professional Administrator License with Superintendent endorsement.
• 5 years of successful teaching experience.
• Demonstrated successful experience in educational leadership.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and support high-quality instruction and student achievement.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, families, Board members, and community members.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional leadership to improve student achievement and district performance.
• Lead district governance in partnership with the Board of Education.
• Oversee budget, personnel, facilities, and safety operations.
• Promote ethical leadership, continuous improvement, and equity.
