Job summary

Loyola Medicine seeks an exceptional transplant surgeon to serve as Surgical Director of the Kidney Transplant Program in the Department of Surgery. The ideal candidate is a recognized leader with achievements in clinical care, education, and academic scholarship in kidney transplantation.

The Kidney Transplant Program includes living and deceased donor transplantation, robotic kidney work, pancreas transplant, and VA collaboration.

Qualifications

• Must have completed an ASTS-approved fellowship or equivalent training.
• Board-eligible or board-certified by the American Board of Surgery.
• Eligible for licensure in Illinois at time of hire.
• Meet UNOS/OPTN primary surgeon qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, direction, and oversight for all surgical aspects of kidney transplantation.
• Oversee clinical operations, education, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with department leadership on strategic planning and faculty mentorship.
• Ensure CMS, OPTN, and UNOS readiness and compliance.
