Job summary

Loyola Medicine in partnership with Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine seeks an exceptional transplant surgeon to serve as Surgical Director of the Kidney Transplant Program in the Department of Surgery.

The ideal candidate will lead clinical care, education, and scholarly activity across living and deceased donor transplantation, robotic kidney procedures, and pancreas transplantation, with collaboration to the VA program.

Qualifications

• Completed ASTS-approved fellowship or equivalent training.
• Board-eligible or Board-certified by the American Board of Surgery.
• Eligible for licensure in Illinois at time of hire.
• Meets UNOS/OPTN primary surgeon qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, direction, and oversight for all surgical aspects of kidney transplantation.
• Support strategic planning, faculty mentorship, and clinical excellence.
• Ensure readiness for CMS, OPTN, and UNOS review and regulatory compliance.
• Oversee education, quality improvement, and regulatory processes.
• Collaborate with department leadership and affiliated programs.
