Job summary

Code for Science & Society (CS&S) seeks an Executive Director to lead strategy, fundraising and fiscal sponsorship excellence. The successful candidate will advance CS&S's mission, engage funders, and guide organizational growth while stewarding open data and public interest technology communities.

You will report to the Board, manage a core team, and partner with fiscally sponsored projects to scale impact, strengthen governance, and build resilient systems for sustainable mission delivery.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of senior or executive leadership in nonprofit or related sectors.
• Proven fundraising success with major gifts and donor relations.
• Experience partnering with a Board of Directors to strengthen governance.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership and strategic direction for CS&S.
• Oversee fundraising, financial strategy, and resource development.
• Engage funders, partners, and fiscal sponsorship communities to expand impact.
• Lead organizational strategy, governance, and external positioning.
