Job summary

Little Red School House and Elisabeth Irwin High School seeks a High School Principal to guide a diverse community of faculty and students within a progressive, inquiry-based program. The role emphasizes equity, collaboration, and strong leadership across academics, operations, and college placement.

The principal will supervise, hire, and develop faculty; lead day-to-day operations; and represent the school in admissions and community relations, while upholding LREI’s mission and core learner

Qualifications

• High School classroom teaching experience and a desire to continue teaching as a model for faculty.
• Administrative experience leading, supervising, and giving feedback to a high-quality faculty.
• Experience building curriculum and program, and an ability to manage complex projects with colleagues.
• Skills in navigating and managing parent partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Lead the division and the institution in accordance with LREI’s mission and equity statements.
• Supervise, observe, and evaluate faculty in the high school’s program.
• Be responsible for hiring, assignment, and retention of faculty.
• Direct day-to-day operations and maintain a visible presence across the school.
• Oversee admissions involvement and recruitment of prospective students.
• Participate in the school's administrative leadership team and report to the Director.
